Welcome to the official page of the Royal Canadian Navy Curling Club's attempt to break the Guinness World Record for the longest curling game!

Running from Thursday April 9th to Tuesday April 14th, 10 curlers from the Royal Canadian Navy Curling Club will attempt to set a new Guinness World Record for the longest curling game (the current record of ~105 hours is held by fellow Ontario Curling Association member Coldwater & District Curling Club). Our goal is to have two teams of 5 play for 120 consecutive hours, under the supervision of dedicated witnesses and those watching at home via a livestream, all while raising money for two incredibly deserving organizations: The Perley & Rideau Veterans' Health Centre and Right to Play. All money raised during this event will be split equally between the two.

The Perley & Rideau Veterans' Health Centre and the RCN Curling Club have a longstanding history as 2020 marks the 15th anniversary of our club's support of the Perley & Rideau, and we are excited to celebrate this milestone with another opportunity to give back to our veterans. We've raised over $41,000 during that time, and your donations will help to grow that total! For more information on the programs that they offer, please go to their website.

This is our first time officially supporting Right to Play, but we have always believed in the importance of sport to the healthy physical and emotional development of children - just take a look at our Junior program! Right to Play runs programs that aim to protect, educate, and empower children to heal from the harsh realities of war and abuse, to change their behavior and protect themselves from disease, to go to school, graduate and create a better future.  TO DONATE

We have established a number of ways for you to make donations, including online and in-person options. We will not be able to provide donation receipts suitable for tax purposes, so please use option #4 if you would like to receive one.

  1. Cash or cheque donations can be brought to the club (please do not mail any money!) in an envelope marked with your name(s) and referencing the GWR fundraising. For the purpose of this fundraiser, please make cheques out to "Royal Canadian Navy Curling Club" or "RCN Curling Club" with the memo line "GWR Fundraising".
  2. E-transfers can be sent to comptroller@navycurlingclub.com with your name and reference to GWR fundraising in the "note". Please be aware the we are set up for Autodeposit so you will not have to enter a question/password.
  3. PayPal donations with credit cards can be sent using THIS LINK. Please only use this option if you cannot use the others above - PayPal's processing fees mean that only 97% of the donated money will make it to our partner organizations. Please use the dropdown menu so the right information comes through.
  4. You can also donate directly to either organization! If you chose to do this, please send proof of your donation to Kelsey so we can update our fundraising total with your amount. (For donations to the Perley & Rideau, please folow this link.)
