Novice Program and Curling Clinics

If you are a beginner, if you have curled for a few years, or if you would just like to get some technical improvement lessons, the RCN Curling Club is the place for you!

We are fortunate enough to have a great group of club members who are experienced Curl Canada instructors. These instructors have qualified at level 1,2 or 3 of the CCA program.

For Beginners

The Navy Curling Club provides two options. We offer a full-season Novice Program on Sundays at 1:30 p.m. We also hold Daytime Adult Learn-to-Curl sessions on Thursdays at 1:30 p.m., from October to December. Participants will learn to curl in a friendly, fun, non-pressure environment. Additional information can be found on our Novice Program page.

Clinics for More Experienced Curlers

There are technical improvement clinics planned for 2017/2018. The schedule and sign-up sheet for these will be posted on the bulletin board in the lounge.

Here’s how our curling clinics work:

The club offers additional clinics during the year on Sundays at 4:30 PM after the learn to curl program, as demand dictates.
The clinic is open to members, their friends or guests, and rental league members who have curling experience.
This is a sign up event and the sheets are generally posted on the lounge bulletin board at our club.
If you sign up and then are unable to make that day, please call the club to cancel. The club attempts to have only 6 persons per instructor.

If you want to have a private lesson, most of our instructors are willing to come out and provide you with about 1/2 hour to 1 hour of instructions.

For a list of club curling instructors or further details call the Club Manager at (613) 236-5103 or send an email to who can give you the names of the club instructors.

"The instructors were great. Not only did they teach the basics of curling but them made sure we had fun and felt welcomed at the Club."
